My name is Alain. I live on the island of Madagascar in the Indian Ocean. I live in a house close to the sea. Madagascar is a beautiful island with lots of birds, animals and flowers. We have our own language on Madagascar called Malagesy. And we have our own traditional songs and dances.
The men in my village are fishermen. Fish and octopus are our main food. Today, my village has grown very big. There are 1200 people who live here. Now, there aren’t enough fish in the sea. Some people have left the village to live in the city.
I don’t want to leave my community. I like it here.
