How are you? I'm in Dublin for the weekend with my mum, my dad and my little brother. It's my dad's birthday and he wanted to come
here, Did you know he's Irish?
You probably know Dublin is the capital of Ireland. It was originally a Viking town, so it's very old. It was very small too until the 17th century
.
Then it started to grow. The city has old parts and modern parts
. There are lots of churches and parks. There's also the Ha'penny (half
penny) Bridge. This is an old iron footbridge over the River Liffey
, It's really famous. Lots of tourists take their photos there. Dad took our
photo there, too.
One of the oldest buildings is Dublin Castle, King John of England built this in 1204. We visited the castle yesterday. It's huge! There are two
museums, catés, shops, and amazing gardens. We had a guided tour and a picnic in the garden, but we didn't have time for the museums.
But of course we had time for the shop. My brother bought a T-shirt. It's got I love Dublin on the front, I wanted a cap, but I didn't like the
ones there, so I bought a green bag, It's really nice.
