Kraków Old Town. This is the best preserved old town in Poland. It did not suffer any damage during 2nd World War.

Wawel Cathedral y Castle. The castle was Polish kings' capital for centuries. Many famous Polish and some kings are buried in the Cathedral and its cellars.

Wieliczka Salt Mine. This unique place consist of kilometers of tunnels and tens of chambers, all built hundreds meters under the gruound level. The best known chamber is the one with St. Barbara chapel completely made of salt.

Auschwitz-Birkenau. This place of Nazi's biggest concentration camp is a very sad place, but still it is one of the most visited places in Poland.

Częstochowa, Jasna Góra. "Jasna Góra" is St. Paul Order's fortified monastery. It was the only place not conquered by the Swedish in XVII century during so caslled "Swedish Flood". The miracolous image of  Our Lady of Częstochowa, patron saint of Poland is held there.  

Warsaw Old Town. Polish capital center is almost completely rebuilt after 2nd World War damage, still it is a charming place with its narrow streets, many caffes, bars, restaurants. Here we can find former market place (Rynek Starego Miasta) with city's emblem "Syrenka" (Mermaid).

Mazury. This region is called "Thousand Lake Country". This is true, there are so many small and big, shallow and deep lakes. It is a very nice and quiet place to rest and many people come here to sail.

Zamość. This city is called "Polish Florence". It is so because of its renaissance touch given by family called Zamojski.

Trójmiasto. This "Three city" consist of Gdańsk, Gdynia and Sopot. Gdańsk is famous by its old town with market streets. Sopot is a well known sea-side resort founded in XIX century.

Toruń. This city conserved nice gothic biuldings in the center. It is also known as the place where Copernicus was born and spent part of his life.

Description of Poland

Poland is a country situated in Central Europe. It covers more that 312 thousands square kilometers and has population of over 38 million people. Poland's official language is Polish. The climate is moderate there, which means that summers are usually hot and sunny, winters cold and springs and autumns quite mild. The longest river in Poland is the Vistula River.

While the north of Poland has an access to the sea, the south of Poland is dominated by the mountains. The Tatra Mountains are perfect for winter sports and hiking, so they attract a lot of tourists and climbers from all over the Europe. The Baltic Sea, on the other hand, is known for its  healthy climate, sandy beaches and popular holiday resorts.

Poland belongs to the European Union and has a great economic potential. There are many universities and academies which offer the highest level of education. Polish culture and art have a long history and are distinguishable abroad. Although Poland is highly developed and influenced by contemporary trends, it also retains its own unique tradition.

The most popular sport in Poland is football. The country has a rich history in this field as the national football
