1. They didn't play well in the match although they were training / had trained every evening.
2. I left work early because I wanted / was wanting to watch the match.
3. There was a lot of traffic, and when we arrived, the match already started / had already started.
4. When the snowstorm started, we stopped / had stopped skiing and went back to the hotel.

Proszę o wyjaśnienie dlaczego dana forma:)

1. They didn't play well in the match although they had trained every evening. (Past Perfekt, bo codzienne trenowanie było wcześniejsze w przeszłości, niż słabe zagranie w meczu)

2. I left work early because I wanted to watch the match. (chociażby dlatego, że want nie ma formy –ing)

3. There was a lot of traffic, and when we arrived, the match had already started. (Past Perfekt, bo zaczęcie się meczu było wcześniejsze w przeszłości niż ich przybycie, poza tym masz słówko already, które łączy się z czasami perfect)

4. When the snowstorm started, we stopped skiing and went back to the hotel. (Past Simple, bo wszystko odbyło się w tym samym czasie, albo bezpośrednio po sobie, zaczęła się burza, oni przestali jeździć na nartach i wrócili do hotelu)
