My family isn’t big because I’m an only child. But I’ve got two grandmothers, two grandfathers, one great grandmother, and a lot of aunts, uncles and cousins. I don’t see them very often. I only visit my Mum’s parents every weekend and I stay at their house during my holidays.
My Mum is thirty-eight and my Dad is thirty-nine. Mum is a teacher. She teaches German in a primary school. She works in the morning or in the afternoon. Sometimes she has to mark her students’ homework in the evenings. My Dad works in a small computer firm. He starts work at eight o’clock. He doesn’t go to work on Saturdays. My parents are very busy but they always find the time for me. I like doing things with them after school. We go to the zoo or to the cinema or to a swimming pool together. At weekends we visit small towns and places on the way to my grandparents.
My father is an excellent driver and I am his driving partner. Well, not quite. I think I’m ready for my driving tests and exams but I have to wait until I’m seventeen years old. My Mum wants me to learn German. I know a lot of German words. I can say in German that we live in a block of flats and our flat is big and comfortable. I can also say that I’ve got my own room. It’s not much, but is’s better than nothing.
We’ve got a big, old photo album and a lot of family photos on CDs. I like turning pages of the album very much. When I was a baby my Mum’s hair was short, straight and dark. Now it’s long, wavy and brown. It’s very nice and very thick. Mum’s eyes are blue and her eyebrows are black. She’s tall and slim but not thin. My Dad isn’t bald but he has very thin hair now. He’s tall and rather fat. His eyes are brown. In one photo my Dad looks like a cowboy and my Mum like a model.
My parents like to wear comfortable sports clothes after work. For work my Mum wears a jacket with a skirt and a blouse and my Dad wears a suit with a shirt and a tie.
I look like my Mum. My eyes and my nose are like my Mum’s. My eyebrows also are similar to hers.
My parents are my best friends. We are a very happy family.
