At the age of five I could not swim, it only happened at the age of six. It is true that many people say that children can swim as soon as they are born and that this is not unusual, but in my case I must have forgotten how to swim, because at the age of 5 I could not swim, and this is certain. When I turned 6 years old, my loving daddy took me to the swimming pool and told me that the time had come, which was inevitable and what had to happen was going to lead me to my goal, which at that important moment was learning to swim. And so I was picked up by my wonderful parent and held slightly above the water for a few moments that, in my mind, felt like an eternity, and when they finally passed I was submerged in the water a little and encouraged by a warm soothing voice to move my limbs not too fast but not too slow. The voice kept telling me when to slow down and when to speed up, when to straighten my spine and when to raise my head.
During this willpower rather than swimming, I was unexpectedly lowered onto the smooth surface of the water and swam. It was a great day and a memorable one.
