Superman (his alter ego - Clark Kent, born as Kal-El) - a fictional character (superhero), known from the comic book series published by DC Comics, and all adaptations related to this character. It was created by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel. He first appeared in Action Comics vol. 1 # 1 (June 1938). Superman was inspired by the villain character with telepathic abilities in The Reign of the Superman story, which appeared in the January 1933 issue of the third issue of Shuster and Siegel's Science Fiction fanzine. This story was inspired by the concept of the superman (Übermensch), described by Friedrich Nietzsche in the book Tako Sprache Zarathustra (Also Sprach Zarathustra). Later, however, Siegel and Shuster decided to make this character a hero, and in creating his new image they were helped by the acting roles of Douglas Fairbanks, who played the title roles of, among others In such films as The Mark of Zorro from 1920 or Robin Hood from 1922, Philip Wylie's science fiction novel Gladiator from 1930 played a large role in the creation of Superman. Its main character - Hugo Danner, gifted with superhuman strength and speed, is widely regarded as the progenitor of the later arrival from the planet Krypton.
