Its depends, I do try to respect other people's opinions/thoughts most of the time.

I'm not sure, that would be disrespectful, and I'm not much of an ignorant person

Honestly, I'd like the person to not give up on me and actually explain it until I understand. If not, then I'd just try to figure it out myself.
