Schools don't prepare students for real life
- In real life, people do not casually use mathematical formulas to solve abstract problems. They need logical thinking, but most of the formulas they need to learn will be useless in their daily lives.
- In real life, people do not casually talk about chemical reactions. Basic knowledge is necessary but should be more practical: the way the colour of a solution changes does not make people lees likely to get burnt when mishanding a highly corrosive substance.
- In real life, people do not usually think about grammar when speaking a language. Language is based on communication, grammar should be secondary. It is important to know how to pronounce words correctly.
- In some aspects, schools may actually prepare people for real life - you get assessed regularly and you know that if you want to be rewarded, you need to be the best and strive for perfection. When people get used to this early, it's easier for them to adjust to the working environment later on.
