A Winter Festival
Last winter, I went to see Up Helly Aa - a fire
festival which celebrates old Viking customs on
the island of Shetland (Scotland). The first street
parades began at 8:30 am, and lunchtime,
they had reached the port. That's where the Viking
ship was -

had also made Viking? , and fire-torches
to carry later. At 7:30 pm, a firework was set off,
and the evening parade began." the parade
reached the ship, big crowds had arrived to watch.
The 'Vikings' sang a song, and then threw their
torches onto the ship. Everyone watched it burn.
Later on, there feasts in the town, and there
was entertainment all night. Luckily, everyone had
the day off afterwards!
