Severus Snape is a character from Harry Potter book and film series. He's interesting because of his mysterious nature and personal goals that he keeps in secret until the end of whole story.
Snape studied in Hogwart along with Harry's parents - James and Lily, whom he fell in love with.
He was a member of Slytherin whereas Lily joined Gryffindor so, because of that, his relation with her got worse.
Then, after graduating, he was pretending to be one of Lord Voldemort's followers, just to get close to him and spy on him for Albus Dumbledore. Unfortunately he couldn't protect love of his life - Lily Potter, who was killed by Tom Riddle.
After that he decided to protect her son - Harry Potter but he kept it as secret. Only Albus Dumbledore knew the truth.
In the end, he was killed by Lord Voldemort but with his last breath he managed to help Harry find a way to defeat the main antagonist of the whole story.
