I got involved into a charity. We were collecting clothes in my town for the poor. I was surprised that there were only a few volunteers from my school and two girls I didn't know. You know, if it were for animals, it would be dozens of them, I'm afraid. I don't know why people want to take part in charity but I guess they want to do something for others.
I was to walk from door to door asking people for help. They didn't help too much although we had informed about our action in advance. Well, it didn't help too much. Most of them excused from sharing unneeded stuff because of unawareness or lack of time.
I felt as if I had been begging them for myself, which was a bit humiliating.
I must finish now, but write if you have ever tried something like this.
