Winter starts on December 21 and ends on March 20. I like winter very much because of the snow and the fact that there are many nice holidays during the winter.
The first feast to start the winter is Christmas Eve and Christmas, celebrated on December 24 and 25, during which the whole family prepares 12 dishes. In the evening, when the first star appears in the sky, everyone sits down at the table. They share the wafer, sing Christmas carols and make wishes for each other. Then the children open the gifts that Santa Claus brought them.
The next holiday is New Year's Eve and New Years. On this day, everyone celebrates the New Year's greeting. Lots of people go outside at midnight to put out fireworks. Usually, the fun lasts until the morning.
Another holiday is Valentine's Day, celebrated on February 14. It is the day of lovers. People who celebrate them give the other person a symbol of love, e.g. flowers, chocolates, or spend the day exceptionally.
On March 8, Poland is celebrating Women's Day. All men wish their ladies on this day. Just like on Valentine's Day, women are given flowers or a sweet gift.
